Re: [council] ccNSO Liaison

Hi,

I am sorry I do not seem to have received it.

If I understand correctly, you are withdrawing that and allowing Olga to stand as the single candidate.

I think a liaison to SSAC is a good idea. We should talk about this in council and consult with SSAC on the idea.

thanks

I had sent you a msg Mon as i thought you had asked. But i am good with Olga in this role.

Our new SC's should consider defining these roles ideally. We should also have one for SSAC, and i would volunteer as liason.

Thx,

Hi,

I suppose if no one in the council objects, it could be done this way.
I think given the many topics we have in common or at at least
touching, the sooner we get the liaison established the better.

On the other hand I need to hear from Mike whether he volunteered for
consideration in time and I just missed it. If so, then I will need
to ask Glen to set up the voting mechanism.

thanks

I would be okay if Olga served in an interim capacity at the ccNSO

serve in Cairo on an interim basis.

Avri,
I'm in favor of Olga serving in this capacity, too, but I
guess the Council should give some formal confirmation. Were you
hoping that our liaison would participate in the Cairo ccNSO
meetings? Could this be done informally by Olga before she is
confirmed?

Hi,

This hadn't been my plan, but can certainly do so if this is what is
council members want to do.

Avri,

I am personally fine with Olga serving as GNSO Council liaison to
the
ccNSO but I do think that we should confirm the decision in our
meeting
next Wednesday in Cairo and assume that is your plan. This is
especially important because most Councilors will be traveling some
time
this week.

Hi,

I have received the name of one interested council member:
Olga Cavalli.

As mentioned below, I request that anyone who objects to
appointing Olga to the liaison role, please let me know
before the end of the week (31 Oct). If I receive an
objection, I will ask that Glen set up
the voting mechanism for majority confirmation of Olga in
this role.
If I receive no objections, I will inform this list and the
ccNSO chair of our appointment..

While we did not discuss this I recommend that this role,
like other roles, be one that nis chosen on a yearly basis.
As we resolve the issues of the election of GNSO chair in
the bi-cameral setup, I suggest that we can also cover the
election of other Council wide roles such as this one.

thanks

Hi,

I have sent the letter to Chris, ccNSO chair, as approved
in the last
meeting.

Additionally, I have received the name of one council member who
is
interested in taking on this task. I ask anyone else who wishes
to
be considered to send me their name in the next 24 hours.
i will
send out the name of the candidates once the 24 hours period has
ended.

As we discussed in the meeting, if I receive more then one name, I
will ask Glen to setup a formal vote. If I only have one
name, I will
ask for anyone who objects to the appointment of the named council
member to send me email indicating that objection. If we have an
objection, then I will call for an election process on the single
individual where people will have the opportunity to vote for or
against that person. Majority in favor will be required for
appointment in any election process.
